Peter Wright – Gold Coast #30

Peter Wright2Peter Wright was one of the most exciting prospects in the 2014 draft pool. Tipped by many to be the number one draft pick, Peter was eventually nabbed by the Gold Coast with pick 8.

Peter stands at 203cm and is a key forward who also has the ability to pinch hit in the ruck. For his size Peter is a wonderful kick when kicking for goal but also when using the ball around the ground.

Despite missing a number of TAC Cup games through his commitment to Vic Metro and the AIS-AFL Academy Squad, Peter still finished the season fourth on the goal kicking tally kicking 31 goals in 11 matches for the Calder Cannons and was named in the TAC Cup team of the year.

Peter was named in the All Australian Under 18 team after he starred during the National Carnival for Vic Metro spending time in the ruck and up forward.

2016 was a break out year for Peter kicking 27 goals. He recently signed a long term deal with the Suns and is ready to put his stamp on the competition.
