Dylan had a very consistent 2015 season. He was able to get great continuity in his football and able to consistently shut down dangerous opposition medium and small forwards.
Dylan is a key pillar in Richmond’s new look defence and with an extended run of injury free football he will no doubt be one of the most important players in Richmond’s side.
Q: Which Junior Clubs did you play for and what was the highlight of your junior career?
A: I played for Hurstbridge Football Club. The highlight was definitely winning a premiership with my brothers Jack and Aaron in the Under 11’s. I also played with the Northern Knight for 4 years in the Under 16’s and Under 18’s.
Q: Who was your AFL Idol as a kid and why?
A: Stephen Silvagni. I was always a defender and he was someone I wanted to play like. I remember he once got knocked out in a Grand Final and came back onto the field and it was always something I remember when I’m playing. I was a Melbourne supporter so I also used to like watching David Schwartz.
Q: What were you doing on the day you got drafted?
A: I was at home with my family watching the live stream of the pre-season draft on my computer. Luckily I was pick 2 so I didn’t have to wait too long.
Q: What has been the highlight of your AFL career so far?
A: Probably my first win against North Melbourne in 2011. It was a great experience to sing the song with the boys.
Q: What are some of your interests outside of football?
A: I like music. I mostly listen to Triple J and I always look forward to the hottest 100. I also like getting down to the beach and away from Melbourne when I’m not playing footy.
Q: If you weren’t playing football what would you be doing for a job?
A: I think I’d probably be doing some sort of Sports course at University.
