Jack Crisp – Collingwood #25

AFL 2015 NAB Challenge - Hawthorn v Collingwood Jack was picked up by Collingwood during the 2014 Trade Period after a great finish to the 2014 season with the Brisbane Lions where he played the last 6 games and averaged 19 disposals as well as kicking 6 goals.

Having landed at Collingwood Crispy had a breakout 2015. Finishing third in their best and fairest. He played 22 games averaging 22 possesions, 5 tackles and kicking 16 goals, all while shutting down opposition midfielders. 2016 was another good year for Jack and he established himself as Jack has a Pies fan favorite.

Q: Which Junior Clubs did you play for and what was the highlight of your junior career?

A: I played for Myrtleford all through my junior career and played for the Murray Bushrangers in the Under 15’s Under 16’s and two year in the Under 18’s. The highlight would have to be winning three grand finals in a row for Myrtleford as a bottom age Under 14’s top age Under 14’s and bottom age Under 16’s.

Q: Who was your AFL Idol as a kid and why?

A: My favourite player used to be Brendan Fevola. I was a Carlton supporter when I was a kid and I used to like playing in the forward line and kicking goals like Fev.

Q: What were you doing on the day you got drafted?

A: I was playing PlayStation while my mum was looking at the computer screen watching the Rookie Draft and she yelled out to me when I got picked by Brisbane.

Q: What has been the highlight of your AFL career so far?

A: My first game against the Gold Coast. I got to play in a winning team in my first game and I played alright so that was a pretty great experience

Q: What are some of your interests outside of football?

A: Water Skiing, Golf, Tennis, hanging out with friends.

Q: If you weren’t playing football what would you be doing for a job?

A: I’d probably be working for Crispy’s Hardware in Bright and saving up money to go to University to study Sports Management.
