Q: Which Junior Clubs did you play for and what was the highlight of your junior career?
A: Started at Maryborough Junior Football Club Under 13’s to Under 16’s and then played three years with the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup. The highlight for me was being captain of the North Ballarat Rebels in my last year in the TAC Cup and playing for Vic Country in the National Championships.
Q: Who was your AFL Idol as a kid and why?
A: I wasn’t a huge AFL fan as a young kid. I grew up playing basketball as my main sport and I just played footy on the side. I started to get into footy more as I got older and I was an Essendon supporter so I always looked up to James Hird.
Q: What were you doing on the day you got drafted?
A: I was at the draft and it was horrible. Every other kid at the draft got picked by about pick 15 so I was sitting there waiting for my name to get called out and I started getting nervous I wouldn’t get picked until finally Brisbane picked me at 33. After that I went home and had a party with family and friends.
Q: What has been the highlight of your AFL career so far?
A: Making my debut was great. It was a great experience playing with some of the legends in that team. Playing in the final against the Bulldogs in 2009 was another great experience. I missed the win against Carlton the week before so I was lucky we won that game. We got beaten but it was really good to experience finals footy.
Q: What are some of your interests outside of football?
A: Family. I’ve got a young daughter and I love spending as much time with her as I can.
I’m very passionate about Sport. I follow the NBA closely especially the LA Clippers.
Q: If you weren’t playing football what would you be doing for a job?
A: I’d probably look at doing a trade. I’m going to play footy for as long as I can though because I couldn’t think of anything else I’d rather do.
