Zac was originally taken by the GWS Giants as a NSW Academy Selection with pick 54 in the 2013 Rookie Draft. He had an outstanding first season with the giants playing 11 games after being premoted off the rookie list. The highlight of his season was receiving a Rising Star nomination after GWS defeated Melbourne in round 19 and Zac had 21 disposals.
